My name’s Ian Blake. I’m an ordained Anglican & a church minister in Surrey with passion to serve the people of one of the most beautiful islands in the world - Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka – a country:
- Of golden sand & palm lined beaches, wonderful wildlife, friendly people, warm climate & rich history, but blighted by poverty & unrest.
- Where large families live in what you & I would regard as a garden shed
- Where the opportunity of an education is provided for youngsters but many can’t afford the school uniform they need to go (or the paper & pens!)
- Where professional healthcare is beyond the reach of many
- Divided and torn apart by civil war, with the poorest, as always, suffering most.
My love for the country has grown over the years & a vision has developed to serve –
From – the local church
Through – the local church
To – the people
Hence – Serving Sri Lanka Via Church Partnership!
And why SSLVCP?
Because through the friendship of trusted & accountable local church leaders in Sri Lanka it is possible to make a significant difference in people’s lives,
And I can assure you that any financial support you might give will be well used. I can show you (via the website) how your gift was used & you can join me in making a difference. You could even come out to Sri Lanka with me!
It’s been an honour to go to Sri Lanka & have the opportunity of helping & serving her people in small but significant ways.
Through in country friendships I’ve been able to see how some of the churches are reaching out to the people of the country (regardless of background or faith) & making a difference.
Hence the desire to serve & give –
